If You Give A Mouse A Cookie…

Today we start we start school, soccer, Kenny has outpatient surgery and the Frankferd co-op order comes in. So this is a very busy day. I would like add that Kenny was added as a deacon at our congregation yesterday morning. I am so proud of him!

Last week we went to this cute play, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie…at Little Lake Theatre. The kids have always loved this book.

These were the 2 stars. The kids loved it and after it they all felt like they met ‘movie stars’!!

Little Lake Theatre is a dinner theatre, although this play was only an hour so dinner was served. You can see my 4 kids at the first table but our group was about 25 and extended as far as you can see in the picture.:)

Stay tuned for the Pinkalicious Tea Party we are attending at Little Lake Theatre in October. The girls are ecstatic! Thanks to my great friend Tracy who does all the planning for our outings.

Olgebay Good Zoo

Well I have been going field trip crazy here!! But we are having so much fun!:)We decided to purchase a zoo pass this year. Thursday we headed to the Olgebay Good Zoo, it is a very nice little zoo and only about 20 minutes from our house

They have a little animal hospital that the kids loved doctoring up there animals there.:)

They had this bird aviar that was really awesome..the birds were landing all over us!!

Paul and Camye were so nervous to let a bird land on them but they did it!!! IT was really cool!:)

Blake was a little nervous as well but did great:) Thanks to my friend Sandra that was helping them with the birds.

The zoo had just got in a 18 foot python….very…big..:)

It was great fun and counts as school. We did find out that starting in 7th grade they have a volunteer program. Chloe is VERY interested in this, so we will see if she decides to do this.:)

Fun at the Park..:)

The entire Rogers Family are officially Roller Coaster riders!!! I didnt think it was going to happen. But Paul and Camye surprised us all by wanting to ride the roller coasters and were actually sad they werent tall enough for some!!

We all went to Kennywood earlier this month with new friends that just moved here from Florida and another family from our church. Our families mesh very easily!! We all had such an awesome time!

Paul and Camye on the elephants!!

I kow I can not believe I put this picture of myself on here. But I thought it was too hilarious to pass up!! Thank goodness for that water proof camera. Kenny took it on all the water rides and this is once when my friend Sandra and I were hit by a waterfall!! Yes we look like we are enjoying ourselves a tad…ya think???

Camye and her new friend Emelia!!

Paul right after the waterfall…He is just the most adorable baby!!!

Blake on Raging Rapids….he had a great time with his friend Jacob, who totally encouraged him to ride his first roller coaster as well!!

For some reason..Camye thought it was HILARIOUS that me and Miss Sandra were getting drenched.

Soaking wet and still beautiful!! We invited another family from church too so that Chloe would have someone to ride with…I didnt get any good shots of them together. But that is Chloes friend Kianna right behind her..:):)

Paul riding his “Bengal Tiger”…Paul has loved Bengals..as he refers to them since he was barely a year old.

Paul and his little friend Elaina…are just hilarious together!!! I mean hilarious. They walked in our church the other day and were waving hysterically at one another…unfortunatley we were in the fourth pew from the front!!! They do play great together!!

Mystery Quilt: The Stoplight Quilt

I am taking a quilt class with a group of women from our congregation. The teacher chose a Mystery Quilt called The Stoplight Quilt for us to do. This was a little challenging for me to pick the fabrics not knowing at all what it looked like. So I went a little on the plain side but I thought these 4 colors would look great for a nice Autumn quilt.

This is Part 1, 2 and 3. These are the 2 pieces (64 of each) I had to have completed by the 8th of August, mine are complete. But I am a little nervous. I have never done triangles before or things with a rounded side. But I guess we will see how did I on Saturday and get Part 4.

Canning and Preserving

I have to say I just love canning! I love making jam! I love having the kids around me in the kitchen helping me. Kenny LOVES to do stuff in the kitchen with me. So it is a family event… I have tons to can out of my garden and I stumbled across this little backroads farmers market and was able to purchase 3/4 bushel of peaches and 1/2 bushel of cucumbers.
So far we have canned:
12 quarts of green beans
8 quarts of dill pickles
15 quarts of sweet pickles are still in the process (they take a few days)
6 pints of grape jelly (from grape juice)
12 pints of strawberry freezer jam
15 pints of peach freezer jam
4 quarts of ketchup
8 pounds of frozen peaches
Thats all for now!!

Camp~we are officially done for the summer!!

We are officially done with camps this year. I am so relieved. Chloe left on July 12th for Secondary week, she returned on July 18th. Chloe, Blake, Camye and I left on July 19th for another week of camp and returned home on July 25th (our anniversary ❤ !!!) ….then the next day Camye and Blake left for Junior week and just returned on August 1st!!! I am so glad they are home! I was a little worried since we had been at another camp the week before and thought they might be too tired.

Camye had a great time at camp and we were both very glad she had a friend from church going with her. Her and Heather got along great and made some great camp memories!! Camye won 3 ribbons but lost them and was just devastated….the whole sobbing …because we couldnt find them and she didnt know what she won them for. I am calling around today to at least find out what she won. Blake did great !!! When I went to take more clothes to him on Wednesday (couldnt get caught up from the week at camp before)…he played Mr. Cool guy..and greeted me cooley…Camye on the other hand had both arms around my neck and both legs around my waist!! It is such a nice feeling to be missed.
Blake had all his awards and his trophy when I arrived and was beaming!! Blake won 1st place Checkers (highly sought after)(big trophy), 1st place-Frisbee Throw, Soccer and Long Jump 2nd place- Cleanest Cabin and 3rd place-kickball and 100 meters. He also recieved a Camp Concern Athelete 2009. We are very proud of him!!
These pics are of the cabins they stayed in all week, Chloe too. Although her pic is on her camera right now, 4 campers stay in the cabin.

I am very glad that Blake had a great friend Nathan to go with him. They had a great week!!

And we earned enough to purchase 6 more puppets. We already have 2 boys and 2 girls. So we are purchasing 3 more girls and 3 more boys

The short haired brunette…

The blonde angel girl ..

The lady who made these for us donated the wings…and we are purchasing the boy…

Cute a great family friend donated these…
Thank you to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My garden and other things..:)

Here is my garden!!! My garden is literally out of control…we have planted 4 zucchini , 5 squash, 39 tomatoe plants, 15 bell pepper plants, 30 potatoe plants, a few rows of lettuce here and there, abou 25 watermelon, 6 spaghetti squash which are now taking over the garden, 2 rows of green beans, 1 row of lima beans, 2 rows of cucmbers and 6 Sunflower plants. Unfortunatly we think we have late blite on our tomatoes…which mean they will die.:( All 39 of those..I had such great plans. And a friend just brought me 30 cantalope plants with the blooms on..which I should get in the ground today!

We also have a pumpkin patch. They may not appear very large but they are doubling every day. We are in a pumpkin growing contest. We have until OCotber 20 to turn these pumpkins into the GREATEST pumpkins of all. It is with our 4H group and there is a $500 reward for the biggest pumpkin.

And finally..my flowers have bloomed. I have a flower bed in my front yard that every plant in it came from my mom’s yard. She has a over 100 year old house and we figure as massive as her flower beds (if you could call them that are). And she doesnt usually plant anything….so she divided them and gave me some. We figured they were extremely hardy since they have came back every year since we moved there 23 years ago. Mostly different varieties of Hostas, that bloom and I dont really even know what flower this is.:)

Camp: Sewing Class

Yes I have blogged about 5 times today..just trying to get it all in.

This was the first year I was the head sewing teacher. I was a bit nervous, but things came together perfectly. This year we made pajama bottoms and Kool-Aid Jammer purses. I had 3 classes but only got pictures of 2 of them. The girls were sweet and we are already planning our next year projects and the advanced sewing class that is definetly in order and maybe even a quilt class for free time.

Many people have no idea what I am talking about when I kool-aid jammer purses..so I took several pics.
