Could it get any worse?

I will not ever say that again.

Ever.

Not.even.kidding.

Wow.

But we all know when the going gets tough.. The tough must Let Go and Let God.

Just when I thought this wait couldn’t get harder. Just when I thought I couldn’t hang on any longer.

God showed just how much I could handle. And I am sure I could handle more… So no need to test me… Please.

I got it… He is in control. I am not.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.- Proverbs 3:5-6

Tired of seeing my snow pictures…

Believe it or not I am not tired of seeing the snow…tired of everything being slick and being cancelled. We havent had co-op in 2 weeks. Family Game Night at our church was cancelled tonight…but friends called to invite us over and we are headed over there.

We do still have about 20 inches on the ground. We did have freezing rain the other night and that melted the snow down a little bit. I just hope it melts slowly so we dont flood everyone down south of us (where my family lives).

When this snow storm hit..we didnt even have a snow shovel..because who needs a shovel for 6-8 inches at a time..which is all we have had at once since we moved here!!! My mom did get the kids snow shovels. Thank good ness!! THey have helped.

But my hubby thought we needed more than a snow shovel and he got a Polaris 6×6!! Very awesome!! He is a plowing maniac!! Thought this photo was beautiful!!! Love my house!!

Blake’s First Deer!!!!

Blake went hunting with his dad, Uncle Rob and Uncle Wes on Thanksgiving day!! They headed to my brothers property (about 200 acres) …perfect for hunting and only about 5 minutes away from my parents. About 6pm, they pulled into my parents’ and Blake came busting into the house as proud as can be!!! Here are the pictures, and he is so cute!! He kept telling me how he kept getting Buck Fever and couldnt stop the shakes. My grandfather is 87 years old and gets buck fever everytime one comes into view of his scope. I think it’s cute:)
Here are the texts between Kenny and I. I love we having cell service out there now. We talk the entire time he is in the woods…

4:15pm
Hang on…Deer to kill
———————————

4:31pm
There was a young doe, barely 6 months old, and a spike out on his side…about 100yards away. The hunter looked around for others before clearing his throat, taking a calming breath, and settling into a comfortable firing position, and slowly took aim..
———————————

4:33pm
…The deer simply kept eating…not knowing he was in a hunter’s crosshairs…not realizing his very life was in peril. A love of corn might just be his downfall. Slow, steady trigger-pull… the jitters leaving at the hunter’s unspoken command. ….his finger, with machine-like fluidity, creeps ever closer to the point of release.
———————————

4:35pm
Slowly, …slowly…. Concentrating on the crosshairs, …focusing on the crosshairs….another breath without losing the pressure already built on the trigger..let out half…begin the pull again. Just like he’d done a thousand times before in training. They say it ought to surprise you when the hammer finally — ***BANG***!
———————————

4:36pm
The shot caught everybody present by surprise. Perfect. Deadly. The deer went down hard. Right where he stood…just like the hunter knew that he would. Bewilderment filled the spike’s furry face…a smile crept across the hunter’s. His quarry was his for the taking.
———————————

4:42pm
Let the record show that at 4:35pm on Thanksgiving, November 25th, in the year of our Lord two-thousand and nine, Blake “Crosshairs” Rogers downed a massive spike in Tyler County, WV. Witnesses present: his father (sworn to un-biasness), and the other deer…who now has more corn to eat (also recognized as un-biased).

Thanksgiving Thursday

Well I havent posted in awhile so I thought I would do a Thanksgiving Thursday blog. We have been super busy since school starting, but as of right now we are done in April if we keep up this pace. I am very thankful for this time in my life, I am doing exactly what I have been wanting to do since I was a little girl.
Here is a top ten:

I am thankful for: (in no particular order)
1. My husband…especially this evening!! He is helping create an AWESOME powerpoint presentation for my Medieval Times co-op class.
2. Co-op…it starts in the morning. I am teaching 6th-8th and 4th-5th grades Medieval Times. I am very nervous but I am feeling confident.
3. Kids…they are just the best!!! They give me so much joy!!
4. For my mom who came up to help me…with co-op preps, Blakes birthday party tomorrow, kids first soccer game of the season and helping get my house cleaned for all my company!!!
5. Soccer- I am just ecstatic for Chloe and Blake’s 1st soccer game tomorrow !!!! Yes on his birthday!!!
6. God- because he is such an AWESOME God
7. G-2 Pilot Pens in every color….that my hubby got for me.
8. My nails..because they are really long right now!!!! I dont know why…but they decided to grow for me!!
9. Starbucks…have I mentioned how much I love Mocha Frappuchino Lite’s
10. Homeschooling…LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!

Hubby’s New Toy….

This is my fabulous husbands new toy!! I call it a toy because of his reaction. He was soooo giddily (is that a word) excited. We have 12 acres and even though we only 2-3 acres. It is hilly. It usually takes him every Saturday to mow it and Sunday afternoons are spent weeding. It really takes alot out of a guy. Also we only had a small push mower. Last week, he borrowed a friends from church like this and it took him 2 hours to do the entire yard!!!!! We were so ecstatic!! So he won this one on ebay…and now he will have more time to spend with his family.:):):)::)

Thanksgiving Thursday

I am thankful for:
1. My kids- this has been an emotional week for me. But my kids are so wonderful.
2. My lovable, snuggable hubby.
3. that Friday is only a day away.
4. That Saturday has nothing…I mean nothing written on the calander. We rarely have days like that. My husband is thrilled. A couple things have come up but I have said no to them because Soccer starts next week and that means every Saturday will taken with Blakes soccer games, which we love.
5. For 4H- today is our “Heart and Home” 4H Club meeting. We do have the most awesomist club. My older three kids are taking candy making. Their teacher is great.
6. My new purse- I just got my first Vera Bradley purse and I love it.
7.  Jon and Kate Plus 8 and 18 Kids and Counting—-because they actually give us a G Rated television show that we can all watch together in the evenings. I am not sure there is another show on in the evenings that my kids can watch.
8. Chloe’s speech- she gave her Lads to Leaders Speech last night to our Ladies class at church. She was nervous but did great. In PA to get a accredited high school diploma, she must give a speech every year. There are other places that our homeschoolers give speeches. But Lads to Leaders at our church has the most awesome teachers!!!! So I dont have to teach her…I love it when thinks count double.
9. Rain- we needed rain so bad. The ground was cracking. Of course now it will probably rain every other day till June..but I will take it:):)
10. DVR- it is really nice to be able tape good wholesome shows:):)
