Merry Christmas from the Rogers Family

To all our friends and family,
Hello, I planned on writing a fabulous Christmas letter this year but didn’t get around to writing it, finding pretty paper and getting it mailed on time. So I thought I would blog my letter and the very few family and friends that read our blog can enjoy it.:)

What a blessed year, our year has experienced!! Just a few key things we have experienced this past year:

~ February 2010- 24 inches of snow in one night!! Pure delight!

~April 2010- Our family attended Lads to Leaders convention in Nashville, Tennessee and came home with lots and lots of awards!!! Hebrews 11

~July 2010- Kenny, Chloe and I went on our first mission trip to Baja, Mexico to stay the City of Children. What a life changing experience!! James 1:27

~September 2010- Chloe started 9th grade, Blake started 6th grade, Camye started 4th grade and Paul started Kindergarten. We are a busy homeschooling household. I wouldn’t change a thing. Proverbs 22:6

Chloe has enjoyed being in high school this year. She has chosen a lot of her curriculum and is enjoying her co-op classes. It has been quite an amazing year watching her grow in the Lord. The mission trip was such an awesome experience to experience together. She has also become quite the public speaker and loves to give speeches. She has also been working a lot by babysitting and cleaning. She has become quite the mature young lady and we are so proud of her.

Blake loves being in the 6th grade. His favorite subject is Science. He loves animals and has about 8 pet snakes that he caught this past summer. He is the typical boy loving snakes, outdoors and video games. He was baptized at our church this past year by his father. And what a feeling to have your son be your brother in Christ. What a blessing!

Camye loves playing with her friends. Her favorite subject is Math is enjoying her Teaching Textbooks on the laptop. She got her ears pierced this past summer. She is such a little mother and enjoys mothering her little brother. She is going to be a great mother some day.

Paul is our baby. He is cute and cuddly. He still enjoys wearing his footed sleepers. He loves his friends. He follows and imitates his older brother every chance he gets. He loves God and loves to quote his bible knowledge to his, any chance he gets.

I am going to stop there with exciting news on the home front. We have had a rough few months with injuries in this house. In October, Blake ripped his knee open..to the bone while playing at a church bonfire. Chloe broke her nose playing soccer and had surgery. In December, Chloe broke her arm ice skating.

I have to say this may have gotten us down but it has also brought to my attention how very blessed I am. Our family has had such a blessed year. I can’t even describe it.

We are about to embark on something new and exciting. I ask each of you to keep us in your prayers this year as our plan and pray is God’s plan unravels. Check back to our blog for more details!!!
Many Blessings,
Ken, Wendi, Chloe, Blake, Camye and Paul Rogers

City of Children 2010

I have been thinking of what I would write in this blog for the mission trip to Mexico we just returned from. I am afraid my words will not do this trip justice.

This has been the best experience for myself, Chloe and Kenny. Chloe wants to skip Disney next year and all of us go to the City of Children. Chloe asked me how much was I willing to spend on her backpack. I said $20…she said can I have the cash instead to send to the orphanage and I will carry an old one. The orpahnage we stayed in is a wonderful wonderful place!! The kids are loved and taken care of. I cant believe the generosity I could see there. They came from sad homes but have been blessed by being at the City of Children. We built park benches for the orpahnage there.

On the first day I was there I did benevolence to members of the church in Manadero. I seriously cried for about 36 hours straight while I was there. I didnt know the commericals on TV were real. The poverty was real.

Kenny was in charge of construction. We drywalled and insulated a ladies house Mami Juanita. She was a lovely woman and had been a christian for many years.

GOD BLESS AMERICA! We dont even know how good we have it. Flushing toilet paper, having walls, having a floor, having food, having drinkable water!!!! Yes even the Mexicans cant drink their water!!!

!
I was trying to choose pictures for this blog…I cant choose. So here is a link to my facebook photo album where you can view them all, even if you dont have a facebook.
I do apologize that this blog isnt as great as my others. Maybe I can blog more about it later.

When your son becomes your brother…Acts 2:38

Never have I experienced a prouder moment as a parent than when my child makes that decision and is baptized. It was such an awesome moment when Blake made that decision as it was when Chloe did. I asked Blake how he felt afterwards and he said one word..that means a million…and it was “CLEAN”. Just typing that brings tears to my eyes.

Not only were the angels rejoicing but the kids and our church family were too. We have such an awesome church family and they are all so wonderful.

Tennessee Cousins

My cousin, Stephanie and her kiddos come to West Virginia every spring for Spring Break. The kids all have a blast together!!! Parker is Blake’s age and have alot in common and Kinlee is close to Camye’s age, but Chloe and Paul hang with them all too. This year they enjoyed trips to my other grandparents house, where there is an awesome creek that I used to ‘live’ in. I even caught my first crawdad and snake in that creek. Blake and Parker got to give their Faith Is The Victory speeches at my Mamaws church and Chloe and Camye did their speeches for my Mamaws ladies bible class and Kinlee did a scripture reading. It was so wonderful! However, if my Papaw Wells could have seen those boys , he would have been so proud. The whole time the boys were giving their speeches, I just could picture my Papaw’s face. Those kids would have made him soooo proud!!

Okay ..enough now that I am crying….I need to move on. This year we had some entertainment with the BIG game. Parker and Blake versus Camye and Chloe. It was a close one!! With food, drinks, halftime shows, and autographs ….it was a show to behold.

Chloe blocking the shot…

Pauly swinging away..

Camye and Blake headed to the goal…

Parker Blake and Kennith Blake…the champions of the game. Great job Boys!:)

25 inches of snow and it is still snowing…

I thought about just making this a Wordless Wednesday post. BUT I am Wordy Wendi…so that would never happen. Here we are the morning after the 20 inches fell over night!!! GORGEOUS!! This is us walking in our driveway! This is one of those panaramic views..(I think it is what it is called). Sorry I had to shrink it to get to load on here.

Paul dug himself out a little seat..:) Since he couldn’t walk in it very well with out losing a boot or two!!

GORGEOUS!!! I just love this beautiful site!!

We had to dig out a little path for the dogs. SInce they are only 9 inches or so tall, there first step buried them. Whenever I can get out of my house, I will post the video of the dogs first attempt in the snow.

Happy Birthday Camye!!!!!

I know I know..I have blogged 4 times today!! I just have several things to get done and didnt want to be distracted later by wanting to blog!!
Its true..my baby girl has turned 9 years old!!! I just cant believe it. She is growing up so fast!!! We have decided to have family birthday parties this year. And she decided to make her own cake!! The only thing she asked for for her birthday was a green striped sweater!! And well Mommy went out in 8 inches of snow and 10 degree weather to our OUTSIDE outlet mall and found it!!!! I couldnt let her down!!!

She is such a joy to us!! Very sensitive and sweet!! She did recieve all sorts of things, ballerina jewerly box, panda necklace, webkinz, zum, Beads, Lettering book…

Chloe decided to surprise on Saturday morning by decorating the cake for me. Being the control freak I am…I did spaz slightly (inside of course) but was very grateful for her thoughtfulness and wanting to decorate her sisters cake.

Happy Birthday Camye!! We love you!!

My dog may be having idenity issues…

Okay I am not sure if I have ever blogged much about my dogs!! We have 2 Maltese/Shih Tzu dogs. They are 4 years old. They are very sweet little dogs. They arent the best behaved dogs…because I do not have the time to train them or walk them as they should be. They are loved and fed though!!!! Our puppies are sooo close, Tex and Penny. Kenny’s parents have their brother Scooter…very cute to see all them playing!!

Like I said ….they are loved!! Paul LOVES them..I mean LOVES them…he is sooo close to both of them!!! Maybe because he was only 6 months old when we got them…but his entire day is based on what the dogs are doing. But lately I think Penny maybe wanting to change her idenity, in hopes of keeping Paul away..!!! I found Penny in this box….Paul said she wanted to be a “Puppy in His Pocket”….hmmmmm. Highly Doubtful!!

While we were in Texas, my adorable niece Amelia was napping so peacefully in the dining room, I just peaked in on her to find our Penny…on her lap!!!!!!!!!!! Sleeping so peacefully!!!

Halloween 2009!!!

What fun!!! The kids had a blast trick or treating Saturday night! Chloe was a soccer player, Blake was a pirate, Camye was a black kitty and Paul was a rooster!!!

We made a HUGE haul in the candy area!!. Bleh..I am already sick of it hanging around the house. Anyway…Here is a belated Happy Halloween!!
