~Mia’s First Trip to West Virginia~

Today, we took a quick trip down to West Virginia for Mia to meet my parents, brothers, 2 grandmothers and grandfather. It was a very quick trip!! We were wanting to keep Mia’s world small for awhile, but with her doing so well we felt we could squeeze it in. Mia loves to run and play outside. She even went to the creek and came back after sitting in the muddy water!! Paul being as cute as ever!!

Mia went a little crazy with my camera and took about a thousand pictures..I like this one of my mom and Camye. My mom is simply crazy about Mia and even had was able to hold Mia for a few moments. Of course, I didnt have my camera handy for that moment!

My mamaw will not like this picture being on here, but she LOVED Mia. She couldnt get over how pretty and smart she is!! Mia even kissed her goodbye!!

My two babies, looking at a book together..they are so sweet.

Mia was a little shy at first, but brightened right up with all her attention! My dad thought she was so pretty and smart. Uncle Wes was real nervous to meet Mia. Uncle Rob even closed his store for an hour to come and meet her. And of course, Papaw Buck thought she was sooo adorable!!! He loves his great-grand daughters!!

Miss Personality!!

Wordless Wednesday..almost

We went to the Cock of the Walk about one year ago today! It is in an awesome restaurant across from the hotel we stay at every Easter, Opryland. I know this is supposed to be wordless, but when have I ever been wordless? I just wanted to add this pic to my blog.:)

Deep thought coming….

Mold me and Make me

Arent my kids beautiful? It is so exciting to know that God has hand chosen our children and given them to us adopted or not. We don’t know what to expect. Chloe, our first born is beautiful, easygoing and fun. God blessed us with her as our first cookie cutter gingerbread child. Blake has been my easiest little blessing. He is so gentle and loving but also the rough tough little boy is all there too. God blessed me with this second little cookie cutter gingerbread child.

Camye is my little mother, so joyful, helpful and beautiful. She has been an easy and 3rd little cookie cutter gingerbread child.

Paul is the baby of our family for now. He is just like his dad and Uncle Nathan, always laughing and joking around with everyone. However he is no our typical cookie cutter gingerbread cookie. I believe God gave us cookie dough and asked us to Mold him and Make him. 🙂

I am so excited to see what God has in store for us with our new little girl. I look at her and think she looks like my mom. I look at her smile and see Paul. I look at her hair and see Chloe. I look at her laughter and see Blake. I look at her run and see Kenny. What will little Mia Grace add to our family? I know it will be lots of joy, tears, frustration, laughter, and playing. I just cant wait to meet her.

Mold me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!~ I have always loved this song. But I need to ask myself Am I willing to say Mold me, and shape me, and use me, Lord make me …that is my prayer

A Blake update…

Blake is doing well. He did have major injury in October at hayride. That I will not put on my blog..they are already on Facebook so the world has seen them. He basically had his knee busted open and the bone was showing………

….Umm…okay no mother should ever I MEAN EVER see their child’s bone for any reason!!!!

Anyway, he was released from his doctor on Monday and was told to not participate in gym class for three more weeks. OOOPs….he has done gym and played in a parent/kid soccer game!! Sooo…the doctor said okay then..he is free to go!! Praise God this wasn’t worse than first anticipated.

Blake is doing well with school. He played on the Homeschool Hornets Soccer team and well….they had fun!! Winning isnt everything is it. And we watched the high school team win it all!!

At co-op Blakes classes are:
Gym
Revolutionary War
Literature
Natural Disasters

Paul is a kindergartner. He used to love school before he had to do it. Now he is really bored with it. He knows his letters, sounds, numbers, adding, subtracting. He knows how to cut, glue, staple, color about everything.!! He just needs to sit down long enough to do some major work. But at this point he is ahead of the game so I am not worried about it. He does about an hour of sit down work every day. He is loving co-op. OTher than when told the other day if he did his homework he would get a sticker next, he told his teacher….ahhh thats okay I dont like stickers very much anyway. He is looking forward to spring. We are going to allow him to play soccer!!! This is going to be fun to watch!!

What a great week at camp!!:):)

This was my 12th year at Camp Appalachia. I would say that I had a complete blast if I wouldnt have came home with the stomach flu. It was terrible. I came home Wednesday night and my friends came and got me at 6am Friday morning. Thanks Tina and Jen!! I truelly can say that I spent the entire week (other tha when I was sick, sleeping or eating) I spent it sewing! I dont even have very many pictures to share because I was so busy sewing sewing sewing.

Camye and Blake were the only two kids to go with me this year at Camp. Paul is not old enough and went Camp Granny and Chloe went to Camp Concern. Camye and Blake go to Camp Concern for junior week on Sunday. Camye took Clay, Sewing and Cake Decorating. Blake took Rifelry, Archery and Leather Making.

Our sewing class sewed sock monkeys and bible covers. Which I am ashamed to admit I dont even have pictures of them YET!! But since my sweet Camye took the class I can snap pictures of hers. Camye during the shaving creme fight!!

Camye and Bailey (her camp BFF) after the shaving creme was hosed off!!

Me and My great and wonderful and talented friend Tina.

I love my camera!!!
I will post pics later of our sewing projects. And I almost !! almost got to start my wool kits I purchased last November! Someday soon…

When your son becomes your brother…Acts 2:38

Never have I experienced a prouder moment as a parent than when my child makes that decision and is baptized. It was such an awesome moment when Blake made that decision as it was when Chloe did. I asked Blake how he felt afterwards and he said one word..that means a million…and it was “CLEAN”. Just typing that brings tears to my eyes.

Not only were the angels rejoicing but the kids and our church family were too. We have such an awesome church family and they are all so wonderful.

Blake’s First Deer!!!!

Blake went hunting with his dad, Uncle Rob and Uncle Wes on Thanksgiving day!! They headed to my brothers property (about 200 acres) …perfect for hunting and only about 5 minutes away from my parents. About 6pm, they pulled into my parents’ and Blake came busting into the house as proud as can be!!! Here are the pictures, and he is so cute!! He kept telling me how he kept getting Buck Fever and couldnt stop the shakes. My grandfather is 87 years old and gets buck fever everytime one comes into view of his scope. I think it’s cute:)
Here are the texts between Kenny and I. I love we having cell service out there now. We talk the entire time he is in the woods…

4:15pm
Hang on…Deer to kill
———————————

4:31pm
There was a young doe, barely 6 months old, and a spike out on his side…about 100yards away. The hunter looked around for others before clearing his throat, taking a calming breath, and settling into a comfortable firing position, and slowly took aim..
———————————

4:33pm
…The deer simply kept eating…not knowing he was in a hunter’s crosshairs…not realizing his very life was in peril. A love of corn might just be his downfall. Slow, steady trigger-pull… the jitters leaving at the hunter’s unspoken command. ….his finger, with machine-like fluidity, creeps ever closer to the point of release.
———————————

4:35pm
Slowly, …slowly…. Concentrating on the crosshairs, …focusing on the crosshairs….another breath without losing the pressure already built on the trigger..let out half…begin the pull again. Just like he’d done a thousand times before in training. They say it ought to surprise you when the hammer finally — ***BANG***!
———————————

4:36pm
The shot caught everybody present by surprise. Perfect. Deadly. The deer went down hard. Right where he stood…just like the hunter knew that he would. Bewilderment filled the spike’s furry face…a smile crept across the hunter’s. His quarry was his for the taking.
———————————

4:42pm
Let the record show that at 4:35pm on Thanksgiving, November 25th, in the year of our Lord two-thousand and nine, Blake “Crosshairs” Rogers downed a massive spike in Tyler County, WV. Witnesses present: his father (sworn to un-biasness), and the other deer…who now has more corn to eat (also recognized as un-biased).

Soccer "End of the Season" Picnic

It has been a few days since our “End of the Year” soccer picnic. But I forgot blog it!!! I thought these cakes were beautiful. My friend Gayle made these.:) Blake and his coach!!!

Chloe and her coach!!

This was such an awesome season for the kids. It wasn’t because we started winning for the first time in 3 years(although that certainly helped), but because their new coach was wonderful. In fact, he made it into Chloe and Blake’s L2L speeches. He was such a great christian example to the kids. The Homeschool Hornets were 8-2 this year!! YAY!!!

First Game of the Season….:)

This is my favorite season ..Fall..Autumn. Whatever you choose to call it….it just so happens to coincide with my favorite sport to watch, my kids Soccer games!!! I am in my element as a soccer mom on the sidelines!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

This is our second year of playing on the Homeschool Hornets, but the kids love it!! Chloe and Blake play on the middle school team 6th-8th graders, they have allowed Blake to play this year with the understanding he may not get as much playing team as the 8th graders. Well, he played almost the whole game last week!!!

And we won!!!!! 6-2….!!!!!YAY HORNETS!!!
