Lads to Leaders Nashville Convention 2011 Part 2

Lads to Leaders is the one of the best things I have ever done for my kids. I was never involved with church or wanting to bible studies when I was younger. My kids beg to practice their speeches/devos, beg to practice leading a song (which I cant do correctly), repeat our puppet script over and over and over and over again….which included Adam and Eve, Daniel and the Lions Den and Pharoah and the plagues. They know what the serpent said to Eve..word for word..they know Daniel’s prayer while in the den…word for word and the know all the plagues in order and what finally convinced Pharoah to release God’s people. They practice and practice their books of the bible. They are writing papers already for next on Will Work Till Jesus Comes. They become close with their christian friends. They memorize scripture. They cant wait to get to church.

While we were there, we heard a statistic, less than 25% percent of kids stay in the church yet 85% of kids involved in Lads to Leaders stay in the church and are active members. Chloe and Daddy…she cant possibly not ham it up for one photo!!

Love these kids!! They are 15 months apart but I call them my twins.

Blake holding his finalist trophy for Speech. He was in the top 6 for Boys Speech yet again, out of 24 boys!! He says HE WILL PLACE NEXT YEAR IN THE TOP THREE!!! I have no doubt he will!

Things got a little crazy in the food room….poor Chloe! Levi and Paul attacked!!

Just a picture of our Green Group. There were over 6,000 christians there this weekend. What an awesome experience!!! And that was just at Nashville! I havent heard how many met this weekend in Dallas, Memphis, Indianaopolis, Orlando and I think their are a few other sites!!

L2L Update 2010

Okay here is my little update.
Scrapbooks- Did I say last time they were almost done? Well now they are really almost done.LOL!!
Puppets- WoW!! I am so impressed with m y 8th grade team!! They are doing awesome! We are having a little puppet boot camp for the 3rd graders on Saturday afternoon, since thanks to my cousin Stephanie I realized the puppet stage is 12 inches shorter than the regular stage. That will help them tremondously. This is our first year doing puppets..give me a break.
Bible Bowl- The written test is Saturday night..we have been cramming
Bible Bowl team- Chloe, Blake, Caleb A and Abbie
Pearls- Test on Sunday
Speech- Camye is finally reading her in less than 5 minutes!! I had to cut more out. Blake is doing awesome and showing lots of personality. Chloe has decided to redo hers!!!AWWHHH!!! 13 years old is soooo hard!!!
Songs of Praise and Song leading are coming along.
Banner is Sunday night.

Thats it!!! We are having a good time!:):)

Lads to Leaders Update

Its January and we are wrapping up all those last minute details.

Chloe has finished Advanced Speech this year, I am very proud of how far she has come in the past year. She now volunteers for public speaking, last year she barely looked up from her speech cards.
Chloe and Blake have finished a year of Advanced Puppets, that is alot of work. Tedius work, like setting up the puppet stage…have a new script, having puppets for all..I am thinking I wont be doing Advanced Puppets next year, other than for VBS.
Blake and Camye have done Know the Books.

We are now working on for this year:

Puppets- We have an 8th grade team and a 3rd grade team. And WOW….last night was our first practice but I am very impressed!!

Speech- Chloe, Blake and Camye are all practicing away at their speeches!!

Song Leading- Chloe, Blake and Camye all have their songs selected and are practicing!!

Scrapbooking- Chloe, Blake and Camye are almost done!!

Art- Chloe, Blake and Camye are done!!!

Pearls- Test in February

For 2011- Chloe and I have committed to reading the bibly thru in a year!!!
