Back to the hospital..

Someone said to me yesterday,” Wow Wendi your kids don’t get sick very often or get small things wrong with them but when they do.. They go BIG!!”
And they do!!! I am sure most of you remember Blake’s ripped knee… Chloe’s broken arms… Broken nose..Mia’s issues in March…
Camye was swinging on a rope swing( unapproved) rope swing on our property on Friday after co-op. She was testing it to see if it was safe for Paul and his friend Nathan that had came over. 15-20 feet in the air.. It snapped. She landed on her left side… Bending and snapping her wrist and fracturing her pelvic bone. I am thanking the Good Lord for protecting her from a head, neck or back injury.
She is in Children’s
Hospital since Friday night. She had her wrist set back together on Friday night and it has come apart. She will be having surgery Monday morning to repair that and put a pin in place.
Today she was able to figure out her one crutch and was able o take seven steps. She is having such anxiety. After the seven steps she is asleep and has been for about an hour. It’s amazing how much a traumatic event will take out of you.
Thank you for all the prayers and visits!!! It has really lifted her prayers.

My baby on the stretcher in the ambulance.

SupahNinjas came to Children’s on Saturday to visit. She loved that.

Lots of company has been coming around!:):) she is loving that!

Healthy check-ups??

What??? What are healthy check ups??? Why that is what both of my girls had today?!!!

Mia now weighs 26 pounds!!! 26 pounds people!!! This is huge!! She hasn’t had a fever all summer!! She has gained 2 1/2 pounds and a half inch since her sister came home!

So silly!!!

Avah’a dream come true.. The doctor let her play with the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff!
Avah had seen 6-7 specialists and we were seeing Dr. Springer to follow up.
It was funny Dr Springer said that every specialist report that came in… They commented on her happiness, cheeriness, helpfulness, silliness… Something was mentioned and the specialists were charmed. I do call Avah our little cheerleader… I mentioned to my friend Jen, the other day.. If Avah yelled out,”Go team, Gajog.” I wouldnt be surprised. I think it’s just her personality!! Anyway.. Avah not weighs 35 pounds. She had lost down to 32 pounds but is gaining!!:)

So blessed to have these two girls as my daughters!:)

Guess who is missed…

Mia is missing her Omma. Several people questioned us allowing Mia to see her foster parents again. But it has been a completely positive situation.

In fact, I feel it brought closure for Mia. Mia tells me all the time, “Omma is happy.” or “Or Omma loves me, she is nice.”

Mia’s Omma, Mrs Kwon gave Mia some Gim(seaweed sheets).. Mia calls it her Gimbap. She loves it and says,”Omma gave me my Gimbap.”

It is so sweet! I am so thankful for their connection. What a blessing!!
In fact, Mia asked to Skype with Omma and Appa tonight.:)

An apology….

Sometimes when you are in the thick of something…you do not see clearly.
When that thing going on in your life is over, the fog starts to lift.
We adopted Mia and Avah so close together. I started thinking all Christians should adopt.
You have heard it before, if every Christian would adopt then we wouldn’t have orphans. Well this is not a perfect world, and there will always be orphans, as sad as that is to say….there will be people in heaven that did not adopt…
My apology is for ever appearing judgmental towards someone who was not adopting. Because guess what..I am not currently adopting. I am struggling with guilt. Yes I know Avah has only been home 3 months. But the hardest part for me is, I feel EXTREMELY guilty that we are NOT adopting right now. I feel very comfortable and that my quiver is full. I feel totally ashamed. How can I have seen what I have seen and know what I know..yet enjoy this feeling here with contentment. I know I am letting Satan steal my joy right now that I am feeling. But it is what it is…
Will we adopt again? Yes…but when and where? I do not know. I have been praying for God to speak to LOUDLY to me with lots of details. He is being strangely quiet right now. Most of you who read this, know that I am never strangely quiet. It someone is quiet around me.. I talk incessantly to them. So I am praying and rambling incessantly to God right now.
So what am I doing to relieve some of my guilt right now? There are so many things you can do.
1. Encourage others to follow their hearts and adopt.
2. Support them financially, buy chances at their fundraisers, donate anonymously, donate publicly. Any little bit helps.
3. Take a meal when they come home, My church did this and it was a HUGE blessing.
4. Pray for them.
5. Choose orphans and pray daily for them.
6. Go on a mission trip
7. Sponsor a child.. There are so many!
The ideas are endless!!! But be kind…defend the cause of the fatherless. There are so many ways than adopting.

Summer lovin’

Ahhh summer is almost over!! I can tell Fall is fast approaching. This has been an incredible summer. Mia is doing fabulously. Loving on her Penny-puppy.

Falling asleep at the table while coloring…don’t worry we promptly removed her pencil.

Mommy is at the fair with the older kiddos.. Daddy is babysitting and it is hair style time! These girls can do their hair like no other!!

Sweet Pauly and Avah! Soo loving! Paul adores his baby sisters.

Two peas in a pod. I get the question about everytime we are out somewhere.. Now are they sisters… Yes, they are.:)

Avah stretching out and using Mia as a footrest. Yes they have their toddler beds pushed together.

Sweet and precious.

Signs of summer!! Grapes on our grapevine.. A first for us!!

This is Camye and Paul… We went to tuck them in the other night and they were both under the covers, in bed together and sound asleep!

Life is pretty good right now!

Annual Church Picnic

Every year our church has a picnic at this awesome park, way out in the ‘sticks’. The kids have a blast I don’t even see Blake, Camye or Paul… They are in the creek the entire time.
The little girls were more interested in decorating cookies…

Lots of icing…

Inches of icing… Messy icing.

She kept saying, “I need just a little more.” Avah finally turned her cookie over and they iced the other side with an inch of icing too.

Chloe sitting with the girls for a little icing fun!

And we even had talent.. My friend Lori showing off her hula talent.

County Fair Fun

Now please try to imagine me and 6 kids… 6 kids who live in the country however arent really into animals walking thru the pig barn…

Oh the squeals and the laughter…we were all bent over laughing by the time we got out. All the girls had their noses plugged, the boys of course were noticing all the bodily function of the pigs… But we all were a bit concerned as we walked they these crowded cages… That these pigs were mad and didn’t want to be in these cages!
They were snorting and even I was a little scared.

Horse barn… Much better!!

Sorry for my blurry pictures. Kenny just fixed my iPhone camera and now they aren’t blurry anymore!

The City Of Children- Baja, Mexico

The hubby and Chloe went to the City of Children a few weeks ago. This is an orphanage in Baja, Mexico. I went here for the first time 3 years ago. It is where I made the decision to adopt… It is where Kenny did as well. However, we didn’t tell each other until Thanskgiving. Neither of us wanted to pressure the other ….

Facetiming before they crossed the border. I will admit this makes me the most nervous of the entire trip. We are just not accustomed to seeing camo trucks driving around with Mexicans and large machine guns. But there.. They are all over the street especially on the border.

Of course, my fearless daughter had no fear… And saw the perfect photo opp.;)

Our group from Washington.:):)

Oh yes.. To be young and free!:)

We share a sponsorship with this little boy Jesus. He is soooo adorable!!

I wish we could bring him home!!

Chloe tucking in her friend Kimberly.

Having fun!!!

Chloe and her BFF Kianna have gone 3 years in a row.

Two little girls that Chloe wanted to bring home.

Kenny throwing his arm out of socket during games… Yes it is a common occurrence.

Yoleth in an adorable pillowcase dress made by our church’s sewing class. Yoleth is our little girl our church sponsors.

One project our team does while there is work with Baja Missions. Kenny was in charge of that this year and they built a house!! A very tiny house.

Chloe and Yoleth… So sweet!!

These are a few little girls, Chloe met out in the community while doing benevolence. Camye made the blanket one of the girls is holding. She gave it to them for their little girl. These sweet sweet girls kept rubbing it and thanking them for it. They said they didn’t have blankets.:-/ be still my heart.
This is such a great experience for Chloe and where she has developed a heart for being a missionary. She has big plans in her future of many more mission trips or possibly being a full time missionary. Which scares this mom to no end…. But it is something she feels so strongly about it. I see her being led down this path. It is so incredible to see God work in your child’s life.
