Sick Ick…and allergy problems

Ughhhh we have never been sicker than we have been this year. From colds to sinus to strep to stomach virus to what we thought was the flu was just a 3-5 day fever virus that ends in a horrendous sneezing and coughing cold. Which is where I am currently at. Bleh.

In the midst of this sickness… We have received our long awaited allergy results for Paul and Mia. Did I really want to know this? Yes… I did.
Here they are:
Paul- soy, gluten, rice and oat
Mia- caesin, gluten, soy, rice and tuna
Yes she is Korean and yes that says rice and soy. Ahhhhh could explain so much.

We have many reasons we need to be on a healthier eating plan other than the obvious.

My plan… For now.. Until I can get better… Gluten free which we already were 60% anyway. Paul thinks he is starving and going to be deprived so we have had gluten free boxed dessert every night to help with his fear of hunger and his threat to run away if all gluten free food taste like broccoli. 😉 love that kid!!

But I have a plan that involves more than just boxed delish. I will post our plan as soon as I get off the floor from my sneezes knocking me out.

Busy busy busy…

Most people aren’t crazy about January… It’s cold. We are stuck in the house. Ahhh but it is such a busy time for me. I love to stay busy!!

First craftiness… I have been needing to have a way to organize my school supplies. I haven’t finished yet but love these colors together.

Painting puppet props!!! Can you guess what we are doing??:)

My cutie pie Avah Noelle… Told me she was going to church camp. She packed up just like Chloe.. You know all shoes! And was ready to go!:)

Cute pinterest lunch ideas. I needed something to make sure my 3 littles were eating more balanced. These muffin lunches are the answer. More to come!

More photos coming.. I have been sewing up a storm for about a month.. Which explains my lack of blogging.

Hello friends!!! I am writing this blog because of a close friend who is adopting a little girl from Ch/na. She has spina bifida and is cute as a button. Many know this friend and knows she had a rough start to 2012 and is struggling with believing she can raise the funds or get the grants. I know most anyone can understand where she is coming from. I mean $25,000 is a huge amount to come up with!

So my idea is to remind her of what God can do!! I am going to be helping her do an online Facebook auction.

What I am asking is…if anyone has anything laying around after the holidays…things to return, things you dont like, things that dont fit, leftover items from your own adoption fundraisers, things you mean to sell on ebay but never got around too…anything!! If you would either send me a photo and description or send me the item and I will list it for her auction. SO please share your ideas with me. I have a two 31 bag (but can never have too many of those), a Matilda Jane dress, lots of Gymboree, jewerly, adoption tshirts, 2 paintings, 3 asian drawings, DS game and a Milwaukee power tool(my husbands dream adoption fundraiser). I will share as more people private message me. Anything goes!!

If you have a friend who is crafty, sells something or has a lot of stuff then please share my blog with your friends!! They can donate or shop!!

Off to a busy new year!

I love a new year. I love fresh starts. I love COLD weather… Not that it is very cold right now. I love the busyness of our L2L group at church. I love that spring isn’t that far away!!

I love a fresh start with school. All these things were in the dollar bins at Target!!

Mia and Avah couldn’t wait to do their homework for ‘Dr.Suess’ class for co-op.

Paul needs hands on fun.

He was thrilled to be make gak!

Avah needed some sensory unloading and enjoyed the gak as well.

These fabulous three goofing around… Sledding every single
Day for hours!!! Love this!

Still attempting gluten free.. Awaiting test results still. But I love gluten free stuff. I tried my hand at gluten free poptarts. So good. So easy. So messy.:)

Gluten free cheeze it’s… Sure why not? They taste exactly like the real thing!

And I’m sorry about this photo… But I thought it was too cute. Mia has low tone so I find her lounging quite often in unusual spots. Tonight I came to get her ready to bed… I found her like this. She says.” what I love this new potty seat Daddy bought.”

Remembering…

As I decorated for Christmas this year, every single thing I did reminded me of last Christmas. The mind frame I was in. When I didn’t know if Avah or any child from Korea would come home. We all serious doubted.

As I watched this little bundle of energy this Christmas, I am over joyed. I can not believe she is home.. Home forever. I can not
Believe she had to wait so long for her family to come. I can not even allow my mind to go where it kept going today as I watched her rip into her presents, lay in the floor in the wrapping paper, ask if there anymore presents for her and of course there usually was. Her eyes glowed. Her face never stopped smiling. My mind did go there.. What were the last 5 Christmas’s like?

Home at last. This Christmas I am thankful for my four bio kids for teaching me how to be a mother.. How to love… I am so thankful for
Mia’s Little profile picture that spoke to me about 2 years ago. I am thankful she only spent 3 Christmas’s without her family but those 3 were with her loving foster family. I am thankful for Avah… So thankful she only spent one Christmas with her foster family and 4 Christmas’s at her orphanage. I am thankful they are home forever in our arms.

If ever I thought we wouldn’t adopt again… Today showed me that we will 100% adopt again. How many children are waiting? How many children are without parents? Hungry? Cold? Alone? Without hope?

I look into Avahs eyes and see hope. Hope. Hope is beautiful. Older child adoption is incredible. Such an incredible blessing.

Thank you Lord.

Christmas Eve blessings…

Christmas eve started early. Chloe had to work at 7am. I then went shopping for all the missing ingredients and a lady bug dream lite that Mia had just informed she had to have. After 2 1/2 hours of shopping… Got it all and headed home.

So many wonderful Christmas gifts from friends and neighbors.

Crock pot candy=yum!

More goodies from great friends.

Peppermint Rice pudding was a new recipe I tried. Not my favorite but certainly a hit with many family and friends.

Panera broccoli cheddar soup for lunch.

The search for the pickle ornament.

Camye won again.. For the third year. That girl can find anything!

Merry Christmas! We spent Christmas with great friends. Christmas morning home with our close family. Christmas evening with my family. And certainly missing our family in Texas and Virginia.

Merry Christmas!!!!!
