Day 3 Gluten Free

Well I am not sure why but it’s 2:30am. Mia woke to 3 different muscle cramps in her right forearm. She has been trying to get back to sleep but keeps getting muscle cramps in her calves. Yesterday was not 100% gluten free… she did have 1/2 choc chip cookie, 3 bites of a white roll, 1 bite of unapproved cereal, and she devoured the crust of her brothers pie. Not sure if these are related but she didnt have any gluten on day 1 and zero cramping at night(which isn’t the norm).

3am- leg cramps

8am- Mia is a hot mess. Woke up with a hang nail… Temper fit after temper fit.

10:15am- still going strong
Still no appetite…

10:30am- gluten free granola bar

11:30am- attitude improving and she ate some grapes.

1pm- Asian noodles(don’t have the photo of the package but will post a photo soon

2pm- napped for 1 1/2 hour … Super sweet Mia is back

4pm- She had another GF granola bar and a banana.

5pm- 2 Slices of gluten free pizza

Tonight she went right to sleep no issues. It was a perfect gluten free today. Praying she has a good night.:)
Me and my hubby went to Trader Joe’s and GE Market district for some goodies

Little girls were super excited.:)

Day 2 Gluten Free

Okay today was a little rough. But since I was warned not to take Mia off gluten 100% all at once because she could have a bad reaction, I don’t feel like we messed that bad for just our second day.

Breakfast
Gluten free rice krispies and bananas
1 bite of Blake’s cereal which was NOT gluten free (oops Chloe and Blake got home late last night from a youth retreat and I didn’t have a chance to tell them)

Lunch
Broccoli Cheddar Rice

Supper
a little ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe, apple sauce, corn

A few slip ups at dinner. Avah was slipping pieces of her roll to Mia under the table. And Mia ate Paul’s crust off his cheesecake.

But pretty good since we were at our church Harvest dinner.

Behavior- again today was a little different with church twice. Daddy was with us all day. Back and forth from home to church. She only threw a fit once when she wanted a bag of rolls and I said no. It was short lived and she got over pretty quick. She
Seemed more alert, outgoing and awake today. I felt like she felt better.
Tomorrow will be the true test. Daddy is back to work.

Day 1 Gluten Free

So far so good. Mia is not that picky with food. The issue is getting her to eat more than one bite without saying her stomach hurts. Here’s the food:
Breakfast
5-6 bites of Gluten free Rice Krispies with banana
Strawberry and banana worm

Made by her loving sister Camye.
Snack- 5-6 bites of waffle with home made maple syrup (made by daddy)

Smells like cake mix. Tastes like waffles.
Lunch
Peanut butter/apple/grapes rice cake
Asian rice noodles

She thought this was extremely cool.

Big sister Avah is getting in on the gluten free action.
Supper
Baked Spinach, Pepper Jack Chicken breast and broccoli casserolle (bad picture)

Dessert
Orange Marshmallow smoothie

Any improvements?
Well it’s hard to tell because Daddy is home. Mia is always better for Daddy. But he was outside working, she did not throw as many fits, or call anyone any names. She fell asleep within seconds for a short little nap. Today has been an improvement but we shouldn’t see much of an Improvement for 2 weeks.

Stubborn Mom’s Get Answers

Something is always hurting. We see the top specialists in the area. We have a well known international adoption pediatrician, We have seen infectious disease, hematologists, sleep centers, the director of ENT, well known genetic specialist, urologists… We have covered our basis. Everything comes back perfect. Mia is perfect. There is not a thing wrong…
BUT something is always wrong.
Here are her symptoms:
-fever with vomiting every 6-8 weeks(drops2-3 pounds everytime)
-muscle pain
-muscle cramps
-muscle tenderness
-low muscle tone
-dental issues
-irrational behavior
-temper fits
-blood levels that show blood clotting issues( still checking on this)
-FTT failure to thrive
-thrush
-sleep disturbances
-fatigue
-lethargic
-no appetite
-constipation
-cracked lips
Something is wrong here. Doctor appointment after doctor appointment…. Nothing is wrong… Thats just Mia. So I googled… And googled. And what I came up with was gluten intolerance could be causing the problems. What else can it be? At suggestions? Something is wrong?
So we are giving it a try. It can’t hurt. I am going to post our first week plan as I go with photos.
Say a prayer as I try to get Mia completely gluten free.

Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

My sweet baby girl Mia Grace turned 4 years old on the 5th. I now have two 4 year olds for about 2 months. What fun!

Mia is such a fun loving little girl. She loves to color, play dolls and all the typical 4 year old activities.

She weighs a whopping 25.3 pounds and is 36 inches tall. She wears a size 3t but could easily wear 12 months if it weren’t for length.

Mia wanted an ice cream cake for her birthday. She also wanted a lalaloopsy doll, puzzles and books.

Avah I got this… I can hear her now. Big sister Avah is always helping.

So thankful for this little blessing. Cant imagine our lives if we hadn’t opened our hearts up to adoption.

Fun in Virginia Beach

Last weekend we visited my sister in law, her 4 kiddos and her Japanese foreign exchange student. Yes we had a fun and full house of 14 people for a weekend. But we had alot of fun! Kids loved spending time together.

This was Avah’s first trip away for longer than one night. She did really well. Little girls enjoyed dressing alike.:)

Mia, Amelia and Avah… First cousins.:)

Fun at Chuck E Cheese. Yes they are scrounging for tokens.. We only bought about 200 tokens for each family… Never enough.:)

And then spent a few hours freezing at the cold but beautiful beach.

They were drenched!!

Ready… Let’s go!

Sunday mornings are crazy busy in the house. All of us out the door at the same time. Little things help: setting clothes out the night before, finding both shoes and BOTH socks the night before and finding the boys belts the night before.
Typically I get up and get everyone dressed while Kenny gets dressed. Then we trade and I get dressed while he feeds them breakfast. Works great!

But Sunday morning, Kenny had to work! So I was up extra early and got the littles dressed. I told Avah to get her church bag ready. Here is what she brought me! I laughed and laughed. And yes I let her go to church like this. It was too cute.:)
