County Fair Fun

Now please try to imagine me and 6 kids… 6 kids who live in the country however arent really into animals walking thru the pig barn…

Oh the squeals and the laughter…we were all bent over laughing by the time we got out. All the girls had their noses plugged, the boys of course were noticing all the bodily function of the pigs… But we all were a bit concerned as we walked they these crowded cages… That these pigs were mad and didn’t want to be in these cages!
They were snorting and even I was a little scared.

Horse barn… Much better!!

Sorry for my blurry pictures. Kenny just fixed my iPhone camera and now they aren’t blurry anymore!

The City Of Children- Baja, Mexico

The hubby and Chloe went to the City of Children a few weeks ago. This is an orphanage in Baja, Mexico. I went here for the first time 3 years ago. It is where I made the decision to adopt… It is where Kenny did as well. However, we didn’t tell each other until Thanskgiving. Neither of us wanted to pressure the other ….

Facetiming before they crossed the border. I will admit this makes me the most nervous of the entire trip. We are just not accustomed to seeing camo trucks driving around with Mexicans and large machine guns. But there.. They are all over the street especially on the border.

Of course, my fearless daughter had no fear… And saw the perfect photo opp.;)

Our group from Washington.:):)

Oh yes.. To be young and free!:)

We share a sponsorship with this little boy Jesus. He is soooo adorable!!

I wish we could bring him home!!

Chloe tucking in her friend Kimberly.

Having fun!!!

Chloe and her BFF Kianna have gone 3 years in a row.

Two little girls that Chloe wanted to bring home.

Kenny throwing his arm out of socket during games… Yes it is a common occurrence.

Yoleth in an adorable pillowcase dress made by our church’s sewing class. Yoleth is our little girl our church sponsors.

One project our team does while there is work with Baja Missions. Kenny was in charge of that this year and they built a house!! A very tiny house.

Chloe and Yoleth… So sweet!!

These are a few little girls, Chloe met out in the community while doing benevolence. Camye made the blanket one of the girls is holding. She gave it to them for their little girl. These sweet sweet girls kept rubbing it and thanking them for it. They said they didn’t have blankets.:-/ be still my heart.
This is such a great experience for Chloe and where she has developed a heart for being a missionary. She has big plans in her future of many more mission trips or possibly being a full time missionary. Which scares this mom to no end…. But it is something she feels so strongly about it. I see her being led down this path. It is so incredible to see God work in your child’s life.

An answer to Prayer!

I have been praying and praying for someway to help the little girls keep their Korean. Or at least try. I realize they will not keep their Korean if we don’t speak it at home.
Most of you may know my ability to speak foreign languages.. Or my inability…;)
There is this awesome little Korean restaurant in Cecil called The Golden Pig. I try to go in there every few weeks.
Well I met this fabulous, wonderful, kind Christian Korean lady named Chrissy!!!! And boom. We hit it off!! She is young, fun and loves adoption!! She knows about our Korean agency SWS and studied in adoption in Korea!!!

Come on.. Could this be anything else than planned by God!!

Here she is with the girls.. After our first Korean lesson.

Of course they played with their straws, fiddled around, dropped things, climbed on my back, pulled my hair, but they were able to hear Korean… Listen to her teach me! And even translate something’s Avah says all the time.
Basically.. If I want my girls to keep speaking any Korea.. I have to speak it… Correctly. :-/ I may not succeed but I will go down trying my best!

My girls are little and don’t really like to eat.. Unless its Korean. I need them to eat!!! So I must learn to cook yet love to eat Korean food. And I do… I find myself craving it.

I collected about every bottle and variety of soy sauce and rice vinegar from here to Korea.

My first try making Mandu.. Avah asks for this daily. It was a hit!!!!

So my prayer has been answered.. Thank you God! I now can help my girls keep their Korean culture.- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

~AMSA girls REUNION~

I can hear the girls saying, “I just can not believe it!!!” Avah and Cora’s meeting was soo sweet!!! We decided while waiting for Cora, Sarah and Avah, that we would keep them in touch and help them to piece together what little memories they do have.
My camera froze so I wasnt able to take photos of Sarah and Avah’s first meeting. They were so sweet, playful and helpful with each other.
Mia had a blast!! She just acts like she is one of the girls!!
Grace helping Avah in the pool, Cora was swimming up for some fun.
Our older kids enjoyed a movie in the hotel movie theatre.
This was right after Avah had met Sarah for the first time. Avah loves to look away from the camera for photos. I think while at AMSA, they must have always had the same exact thing on their plates. After all it was, cafeteria style. I hadnt seen Avah act like this with her food before…but what Sarah had…Avah wanted…what Cora had, Avah wanted. And they all shared so nicely.
Here is Avah feeding Sarah a piece of fruit at breakfast.
I love these 4 girls!!!  I praise God everyday they are home!!!
 A little Build-a-Bear fun!!
I loved this photo below. I looked at this photo for months trying to figure out the dynamic…the fun….to hear their laughter….I remember even talking to Jen, that we wish we could just have a close up of an earlobe or a hand. Anything…it was 11 months of torture to wait for Avah to come home. Thanking the Lord they are home!!!! And all doing wonderful!!!

Kennywood Fun!!

Every year, the company gives tickets to their employees and offers free food for the day!
People typically get their free tickets and can’t use them and give them to us. We gave them to good friends of ours and headed up for the day!
